PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Looks like the Steelers can get a couple of players returning in the backfield this week. Tailback James Conner and fullback Derek Watt practiced full for a second straight day.
Watt suffered a concussion on the first punt of the Cincinnati game, while Conner also missed the Bengals game with a quadriceps injury.
Starting defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt has been key to their good play this year. The seven-year vet hasn’t worked with the team this week due to a back injury.
Also hurt is outside linebacker Ola Adeniyi, who is the back-up to Alex Highsmith, who is starting for the injured Bud Dupree.
While linebacker Vince Williams is off the COVID-19 list, two other linebackers haven’t practiced at all this week, Marcus Allen who suffered a stinger against the Bengals and Ulysees Gilbert, who just returned, and hurt his ankle Monday night.
Kicker Chris Boswell is having issues with his groin again and was limited in practice on Thursday.
Steelers will hold a normal practice on Christmas Day and host Indianapolis Sunday at 1p.
