PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Corner Jamel Dean said he was optimistic about playing against his old teammates at Tampa Bay on Sunday. The veteran, who turned 30 on Thursday, was limited Thursday at the UPMC Rooney complex. Here is the practice report.
Other than Dean, safety DeShon Elliott was limited in practice. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he’s getting better and close to returning as he’s still in the 21-day window to return from injured reserve with a knee.
Defensive tackle Keeanu Benton missed practice on Wednesday with an ankle, but moved up to limited on Thursday.
Tailback Rico Dowdle was full at practice for the first time in a couple of weeks, a good sign he will return from a twice dislocated toe on Sunday.
