PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Two former Pittsburgh Steelers have announced their retirement from the NFL.
Roosevelt Nix and Anthony Chickillo announced their decides to retire on their Instagram accounts.
Thanking his family, friends, fans, and previous teams, including the Steelers, Chickillo wrote, "My whole life my dream was to go to the University of Miami and play in the NFL. I am so grateful for the opportunity and thankful for every one of the teams that gave me a shot."
Nix posted photos throughout his football career, writing that, "This game has given me everything I could ask for and everything I needed. GOD blessed me with a talent that allowed me to touch so many souls all across the world and I'm truly grateful for it."
"To the Steelers and Steeler Nation," Nix continued, "there is no other fan base or stadium I would have wanted to play in front of every Sunday! I'm forever indebted to you all!"
After going undrafted, Nix eventually became a Steeler in 2015 and played in Pittsburgh until 2019. He made the 2018 Pro Bowl and played 64 games for the Steelers.
Chickillo was a 2015 sixth-round draft pick and played five years in Pittsburgh, and spent last season with the Broncos, who signed him to the Saints practice squad.
