Steelers second-year running back running back Najee Harris went down during the team's first full-padded practice on Monday at St. Vincent College.
Harris limped off the field, "a good bit with left shoe/sock off," according to 93.7 The Fan's Josh Rowntree. "just walked by himself to the far side of practice field (away from fans), climbed a small hill and got in a cart."
Coach Mike Tomlin didn't express any concern with Harris saying "Najee, somebody stepped on him."
Tomlin added the injury "Najee wasn't able to finish, somebody stepped on his foot but it shouldn't be a major deal."
Harris is a key piece if the Steelers offense wants to be successful in 2022, so seeing him go down in practice on the first day of full pads is concerning.
But Tomlin did his best to downplay any concerns that it will be a long-term injury.
Tomlin added that all other injuries are "status quo" except for running back Jeremy McNichols who was being evaluated for a shoulder injury.
McNichols signed a one-year deal with the Steelers last week.
Harris joined Tomlin before practice began on the Head Coach's Instagram page, having a problem with everyone talking about the defense and not the offense.
