If Ben can't go, Steelers have to go with Rudolph

But over 50% of people in our poll want Dobbs to start

Steelers starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is currently dealing with two banged up knees and is on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, but if he doesn't develop any symptoms and tests negative twice, he should be able to play against the Bengals on Sunday.

But if Ben can't go, that leaves Mason Rudolph or Josh Dobbs to make the start.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said during his weekly press conference on Tuesday that Rudolph will get the majority of the snaps this week, with Roethlisberger unable to practice.

With the possibility of Rudolph getting the start, the Mason-haters are once again emerging from the underbelly of Steeler Nation.

Fan Morning Show co-host Chris Mack doesn't understand where all this hate is coming from.

"Other than six quarters in Cleveland and Cincinnati last year, he was quite clearly the guy behind Ben Roethlisberger," said Mack.

A Fan Morning Show poll shows a majority picked Josh Dobbs at around 50 percent with Rudolph garnering 38 percent.

We love the guy, but Duck Hodges somehow got 11.1 percent.
Now this is only a small sampling of Steelers fans and of course there can be internet trolls, but still. Dobbs over Rudolph?

Dobbs is very smart and has helped Roethlisberger on the sidelines this season, but he's not Rudolph

And as Mack pointed out, those six subpar quarters in Ohio aren't enough to throw a guy on the trash heap after the Steelers scouted him and insisted they had a First Round grade on him going into the 2018 NFL Draft.
In fact, statistically, the first eight starts of Rudolph's career stack up favorably when compared to the start of Matt Ryan's, Matthew Stafford's, and Josh Allen's careers.

Mason Rudolph's first 10 games (eight starts): 179/287 (62.4%) 1774 yds, 13 TD – 9 INT, 81.8 QB rating

Matt Ryan's first eight starts: 133/227 (58.6%) 1661 yds, 9 TD - 5 INT, 85.4 QB rating

Matthew Stafford's first eight starts: 179/308 (55.2%) 1911 yds, 11 TD - 14 INT, 66.9 QB rating

Josh Allen's first eight starts: 113/212 (53.3%) 1355 yds, 5 TD - 9 INT, 63.3 QB rating
