If we're not grading Pickett on a curve…then he gets an 'F'

Kenny Pickett wasn't bad last night, but as Joe Starkey said on Monday afternoon, he failed the final exam so he gets an F.

Pickett went 32-for-44 on Sunday against Miami for 257 yards and a touchdown to George Pickens.

He looked good at times and did seem to grow, two of this three interceptions cost the Steelers the game.

Over his first four games (three starts) Pickett has seven interceptions and two touchdowns.

Head coach Mike Tomlin says they won't be grading Pickett on a curve, so we won't either, even though that's a ridiculous notion.

If you aren't grading Pickett on a curve, then he deserves the blame for the loss, even with the poor offensive scheme and lack of creativity, it was #8 that ultimately made a major mistake, an interception to seal the game and drop to 2-5.

A touchdown late in the game likely meant a 3-4 record and looking a lot better heading into the bye, even with a loss to undefeated Philadelphia next week.

Those seven picks put in him a rare category, but there is a silver-lining.

NFL Research says the only other rookie to throw five or more interceptions in their first four games is Terry Bradshaw.

Of course Bradshaw would go on to win four Super Bowls and has been enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

It's way too early, after only four games, to know what Pickett's career will lead, but we can only go on what we've seen so far.

So far, that's seven interceptions and two touchdowns, but at least the only other person to do something like that is Terry Bradshaw.
