It’s time for Benny Snell football to be over in Pittsburgh.

Currently out with an injury, Snell Jr. is quickly falling down the depth chart.

"I don't need to see Benny Snell again,” said Fan sports director Jeff Hathhorn. “If I'm Kevin Colbert I release Benny Snell. He does nothing that stands out. [Anthony] McFarland is a little change of pace, [Kalen] Ballage might be that next guy [behind Najee Harris]. [Jaylen] Samuels is good on special teams."

“McFarland is number two right now and I don’t know how people can see it another way,” said Fan Morning Show host Colin Dunlap.

McFarland has looked comfortable and is versatile in a Matt Canada offense.

With Harris, McFarland, Ballage and likely Samuels on the depth chart, that leaves Snell Jr. the odd man out.

“He does nothing that stands out, he does nothing horribly, but he does nothing great,” added Hathhorn.

In two seasons with the Steelers, Snell Jr. has 219 carries for 794 and six touchdowns.

Snell Jr. is currently second on the depth chart behind Harris, but don’t expect that to last too much longer.
