Jalen Hurts says he has never really spoken about it before, but he had "no idea" he was going to be a Philadelphia Eagle.

"Their first pick was in the second round, so I thought I was going to Pittsburgh," Hurts said on New Heights with Travis and Jason Kelce. "So when I saw PA, I'm like, 'Oh this is Pittsburgh.'

"I had no idea I was coming [to Philadelphia]," he continued. "I had no idea. This is gonna be a big—this little conversation, but I had no idea...from the [pre draft] interview I didn't think I was going to be an Eagle."

Of course, the Eagles controversially selected Hurts in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft, while they already had quarterback Carson Wentz signed to a long-term contract and were just a couple of seasons removed from winning the Super Bowl.

It all worked out, amazingly, as Wentz has been traded twice and is injured once again, while Hurts has emerged as the Eagles' franchise quarterback leading them to a perfect 8-0 record this season and putting himself among the favorites for NFL MVP.

The controversial draft pick may turn out to be Howie Roseman's best career decision.

Hurts, who turned 24 in August, is on a four-year, $6 million rookie contract through the 2023 season. He'll be looking for a massive contract extension this offseason.
