PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers continue to add depth pieces, Thursday night, to their defensive line. Veteran Breiden Fehoko announced on Twitter he's agreed to a deal with the Steelers.
Undrafted out of LSU in 2020, Fehoko started four of 19 games in his three seasons with the Chargers. Last season he played in nine games with 23 tackles, 36 in his career.
The 6'2", 295-pound nose tackle is known as a run-stuffer, nearly two-thirds of his snaps came in running situations. He's the third Hawaiian native the Steelers signed this year, joining offensive linemen Isaac Seumalo and Nate Herbig.
Fehoko became a leader and fan favorite in his short time at LSU. He gained national attention with his pre-game 'Haka', which was done with his family just as the LSU team would enter the locker room. It became so popular that huge crowds gathered to watch the traditional war cry. His father, Vili, served as 'Vili the Warrior' at the University of Hawaii football and men's volleyball games. He would join his father for halftime performances on the field at Aloha Stadium when he was a young boy.
