PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers are starting their in-person visits of draft hopefuls to the South Side with a quarterback, offensive tackle and defensive lineman in town on Thursday, as first reported by the Post-Gazette’s Ray Fittipaldo.

Quarterback Tyler Shough, 6’5”, 225 pounds, enters the draft after seven seasons in college.

If you are looking for mobility, this is not your guy. Shough rushed for 19 yards last season. However, the size, arm strength and accuracy are big attributes for the 25-year-old.

Shough started his career at Oregon where he backed up Justin Herbert before transferring to Texas Tech and then Louisville for his seventh and final college season. The Arizona native broke his left collarbone in 2021 and again in 2022 and suffered a broken leg in 2023 which limited him to 15 games during those three seasons with the Red Raiders.

Last year in his only season with the Cardinals, the numbers, 244-389, 3195 yards, 23 TD, 6 INT. The tall righty threw for three touchdowns, an interception and 264 yards in a one-score loss at Notre Dame. He threw four touchdowns with no picks and 342 yards in a one-score loss to Miami. He also threw for a pair of scores and 293 yards in a win over Pitt.

He ranks everywhere from the most optimistic of being the second-best quarterback in the 2025 class to 11th by nfldraftbuzz.com. Shough is eighth-best by CBS Sports and Pro Football Network, ninth by Walter Football, 10th by Pro Football Focus.
