The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t lost a game since their opener, a one-point loss to the Detroit Lions.
They’re now 6-1 and looking to once again win the AFC and head to yet, another Super Bowl.
But, could the Steelers actually be the team that stops them?
One former NFL veteran turned analyst believes they could be, thanks in large part to T.J.
Watt.
Jason McCourty talked about the upcoming Steelers/Jaguars game in Pittsburgh this Sunday and talked about if either team could be a “legit threat” to Kansas City.
“There’s something about a Mike Tomlin-led team, these guys have won seven straight games that have come down to one score and I think it has a lot to do with coach,” said McCourty.
Speaking about Watt, “this guy has been absolutely dominant,” also throwing in his partner Alex Highsmith and his accomplishments.
McCourty says when you have people like that on the defensive side of the ball, “it goes a long way of being able to win games.”
But, the issue for the Steelers, says McCourty, is the Steelers offense. He points to Kenny Pickett only having one game with multiple touchdown passes.
“I think there’s a lot left to be desired on the offensive side of the ball, but if they can get that going, with what they have from a pass rush standpoint, I think they can be potential challenges in the AFC but I’m not going to say they’re there yet,” said McCourty.
