Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is one of the top paid coaches in all of sports in the United States.
Sportico reports that Tomlin is tied for 5th highest paid coach with San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich at $11.5 million a year.
Tomlin is also the 5th highest paid coach in the NFL with Bill Belichick coming in at first, making $18 million.
He’s followed by Seattle coach Pete Carrol and New Orleans coach Sean Payton tied for second at $14 million and Kansas City’s Andy Reid comes in fourth making $12 million a season.
Tomlin is one of 25 current coaches who make at least $8 million a season.
According to Sportico, the NFL has 14 coaching making at least $8 million, followed by the NBA with seven, college football has three and Kentucky’s John Calipari is the only one in college basketball.
Calipari is a native of Moon Township.
Tomlin has won a Super Bowl and appeared in another since taking over in 2007. He has also never had a losing season.
Carroll, Payton and Reid have also won a Super Bowl, Belichick has won six with the Patriots.
