According to CBS Sports NFL Insider Josina Anderson, there is "talk behind the scenes" that "any one of the 3 of the NFL's longest tenured head coaches will step down this season or next."
That list of longest tenured head coaches includes Mike Tomlin, who is second in the league behind only Bill Belichick.
John Harbaugh, Pete Carroll and Andy Reid round out the top five.
But according to NFL Insider Aditi Kinkhabwala, she doesn't believe Tomlin is going to leave, but that wasn't exactly the case a few years ago.
Kinkhabwala says that Tomlin, "was very very close to moving to TV a few years ago."
So close in fact that he spoke to a few networks about the possibility of joining an NFL broadcast.
"That was a few years ago," added Kinkhabwala.
Ex-players and coaches that make the transition to television get paid…a lot.
It seems surprising though that Tomlin might've left, since he is so ingrained with coaching and seems like one of those coaches that may never leave.
