NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says that Hunt interviewed for the job on Tuesday.

Along with Steelers vice president Omar Khan, Hunt is considered to be the top candidate (s) to take over for Steelers GM Kevin Colbert.

NFL Insider John Clayton told the PM Team earlier this month that “100 percent” Colbert will retire after this year’s draft.

While that isn’t confirmed, it has been widely reported that this is indeed Colbert’s last season before stepping away.

With Colbert reportedly stepping down, Clayton echoed something former NFL general manager Doug Whaley also recently said that Khan and Hunt could work in tandem without an official general manager.

Current Steelers vice president Omar Khan will be appointed the GM with Pro Personnel Coordinator Brandon Hunt as “the main picker of players and stuff like that, I think that probably would be the equation.”

The Bears have also reportedly asked to interview Khan for their open GM job earlier this month, but have since hired Ryan Poles.
