PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – With Diontae Johnson still out and a lack of production from the offense, the Steelers are adding a veteran receiver before hosting Baltimore on Sunday.
NFL Network reporting the Steelers are signing Denzel Mims to the practice squad. He’s a former second round pick of the Jets and played 30 games over the last three seasons in New York, starting half of them. He’s 6’3”, 207 pounds with 42 career receptions for 676 yards and no touchdowns. He averaged an impressive 16.1 yards a reception, but his catch percentage is an issue. Mims only caught 45.7% of the passes thrown his way over the three seasons.
Mims suffered an ankle injury during the Detroit Lions camp this summer and continues to work back from it.
