PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he’s pondering the possibilities of starting Benny Snell against the Colts even if James Conner is healthy enough to play.

“You got to admit that Benny was an awesome element of play for us in the last game when we didn’t have a lot of awesome elements of play,” Tomlin said.

Snell rushed for a game-high 84 yards against the Bengals Monday night including a 29-yard run and a one-yard touchdown.  Snell’s 84 yards are the highest by a Steeler since Conner rushed for 89 against Jacksonville a month ago.

“I’m sure he’ll have an opportunity to be impactful in this one regardless of James’ availability.”

Tomlin also said they had the makings to do more with the run game, but the circumstances of the game minimized what they could do on the ground.

Conner does have a chance to play against the Colts during the home finale on Sunday at 1.  Tomlin also said guard Kevin Dotson might be able to return from a shoulder injury.  Vince Williams is on his way back from the COVID-19 list and the linebacker likely will play against Indianapolis.

It was too soon to have information, according to Tomlin, on tight end Eric Ebron (back) and fullback Derek Watt (concussion).
