Steelers have three QBs in the NFL's top 50

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A group of NFL experts ranked every quarterback who had a start in 2020 and the Steelers have three of the top 50.

Ben Roethlisberger comes in as the 20th best QB in the game.  As NFL.com said that rating wasn't all his doing.  Noting Steelers receivers led the league in drops by a wide margin.  They also had the worst running game in football.  They could have, but didn't, mention the offensive line.

Every other quarterback in the AFC North ranked above Roethlisberger with the Ravens Lamar Jackson-7, Cleveland's Baker Mayfield-11 and Bengals rookie Joe Burrow-18 despite playing in just 10 NFL games.

Mason Rudolph was ranked 44th after completing 56% of his passes for 315 yards for a pair of touchdowns and a pick against the Browns in his only start.  Rudolph awaits Roethlisberger decision to see if he will compete for a starting job in 2021.

Yet to throw a pass for the Steelers, Dwayne Haskins ranked 50th after completing 61% of his throws for 1.439 yards, 5 TD, 7 INT, 3 fumbles lost with Washington.

If only this were a pitching staff list and the Pirates had three of the top 50 starters.

Aaron Rodgers, 37, ranked number 1 with 43 year-old Tom Brady second.  Rounding out the top 10 on the NFL.com list-Patrick Mahomes (KC), Deshaun Watson (Hou), Josh Allen (Buf), Russell Wilson (Sea), Jackson, Ryan Tannehill (Ten), Justin Herbert (LAC) and Kyler Murray (Az).
