Steelers hold out against the Buccaneers for big win

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of 20-18.

Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett started the game strong, connecting on his first three attempts, hitting Pickens, Johnson, and Claypool.


The Steelers would continue to push downfield on their first possession which would eventually result in Kenny's first NFL passing touchdown on a short pass to Najee Harris on the left to make it 7-0.

On the next possession, Tampa Bay would be able to salvage a field goal on a 30-yard attempt by their kicker Succop, 7-3.

At the start of the second period, the Bucs drive would be halted as Brady got sacked by Heyward and would settle for another field goal for a tight 7-6 game.

The Steelers would respond the next drive with Chris Boswell knocking down a long 55-yard field goal attempt that hit the lower crossbar and bounced in for a 10-6 lead.

The two teams would trade punts on four consecutive possessions before the half would end with another field foal attempt made by the Bucs' Succop to make it a 10-9 game at the break.

Steven Sims would start of the third quarter with a huge 89-yard kickoff return, but the offense would cool down resulting in another Boswell FG for a 13-9 score.

Brady would respond by cooking quick against what has been a solid performance form the Pittsburgh defense at this point, but would result in another FG to make it 13-12.

The next possession would be a worry for all Steelers fan as Kenny Pickett had to come out of the game after a big hit from Devin White resulted in a concussion.

With Mitch Trubisky at the helm now, he would be able to hit Chase Claypool for a 6-yard TD to boost the lead to 20-12.

Brady responded by hitting Fournette on an 11-yard TD to make it 20-18, but would fall short on their two-point conversion attempt in their last possession of the game.

Pickett ended the day throwing 11/18 for 67 yards and one touchdown. Trubisky would go 9/12 for 144 yards and one touchdown as well. Chase Claypool led the offense with 97 yards over 7 receptions and one TD. Najee Harris ran for 39 yards and had one receiving TD .
