PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – More Steelers back to full practice on Thursday with one more to go before playing at Philadelphia.
Defensive lineman Montravius Adams was able to go full after missing Wednesday with a hamstring injury. Tight end Pat Freiermuth was full after being limited with an ankle injury and Freiermuth told 93.7 The Fan he was just 'a little tweak' of the ankle and he'll be fine.
Also back full, receiver and returner Steven Sims. His health would likely put Gunner Olszewski back on the bench.
"We haven't said it for sure, today was my first full practice," Sims said. "We'll see. I'm sure if I practice, I'll be back there (returning kicks)."
Steelers are sixth worst in the NFL in kick return average and that includes Sims 89-yarder. Sims has also been their only spark on punt returns.
Also full for a second straight day is corner Ahkello Witherspoon. He hasn't played since the Browns game.
"I'm ready to go, feeling good," Witherspoon said. "Excited to be back out there and compete this weekend."
Cam Heyward got a veterans' day off and fellow defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi did not practice with his knee injury.
Chris Wormley confirming TJ Watt working out with the defense during some drills on Thursday.
"It's exciting to see him out there getting some reps today," Wormley said. "That's another piece of the puzzle we are excited to have back. A huge piece of the puzzle. We are excited for him whenever he is ready."
