PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – To create some more cap room after trading and signing for receiver DK Metcalf and due to mixed returns, the Steelers released defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi.
The move creates $7 million of cap space with $3.5 million in dead cap from the $10.5 owed to him in 2025. It gives the team now over $66 million before the Metcalf contract hits the books when it's official on Wednesday according to overthecap.com.
The 30-year-old has battled several injuries over his time with the Steelers, even when he's been able to play in games, he missed a ton of practices. In three seasons with the Steelers, Ogunjobi played in 48 games with 132 tackles, six sacks and 15 tackles for loss.
It's one of the deepest recent drafts for defensive linemen, including several mocked in the first round in 2025.
