The Steelers have made a move ahead of bringing their roster down to 53 players.
NFL Network reports the Steelers are acquiring offensive lineman Jesse Davis from the Minnesota Vikings in return for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2025.
Davis signed an and undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks after the 2015 draft.
He was cut before the beginning of the season.
He spent his 2016 season with the Jets on their practice squad before being released.
The 6;6", 318 lbs. tackle then signed with the Miami Dolphins, making his debut at left guard.
He played a total of five season with the Dolphins.
He has played in 80 games for Miami, starting in 72 of them.
Last season, Davis started in 16 of the Dolphins 17 games, playing 92 percent of the team's snaps.
He was released by the Dolphins in March 2022 and signed with the Vikings a few days later. Davis is known for his versatility, playing right tackle, right guard, left guard and left tackle for the Dolphins.
The Steelers also made their final cuts to get to 53 players.
Along with running back Anthony McFarland Jr. and defensive back Justin Laye, offensive linemen Joe Haeg and Trent Scott and linebacker Marcus Allen were cut before the 4 p.m. deadline Tuesday.
Haeg and Scott join John Leglue as O-linemen released Tuesday
Expect some of those names to re-sign after the Steelers release their players being placed on short-term injured reserve.
