The Steelers have voided the contracts of retiring quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and tight end Eric Ebron.
Smith-Schuster and Ebron will become free agents when the new league year starts.
Roethlisberger delivers a $10,340,000 cap hit to the Steelers in 2022. Ebron’s hit is $3.9 million and Smith-Schuster $5.6 million.
Even with those dead cap hits, the Steelers are expected to be in the top third of the NFL with cap space.
So was it worth it to keep Roethlisberger another year?
The PM Team discussed it on Friday. Poni says the win against the Browns at Heinz Field was worth it. Mueller and Dorin Dickerson disagree.
