Steely McBeam has shockingly come in at number 8 on the top rated mascots entering the 2022 NFL season according to a poll done by Sportshandle.com
Which I would say yes that’s a fair rating for our lovable beam wielding mascot, but then you remember the face lift he got…
No, the new look for Steely isn’t too horrendous but it makes you think more of Barry B Benson from the Bee Movie rather than the Steelers.
Maybe the NFL fans who voted were remembering our old pal Steely, because they also voted him number 9 on most intimidating as well.
Sure maybe he is still intimidating in a more creepy sense now, but the strong chin and bushy eyebrows were probably a much more gruff and tough intimidating look.
Only time will tell how he performs on the field and with the fans this seasons. There will be a lot of eyes and analysts following the new Steely’s rookie season to see how he performs and lives up to the older more legendary Steely McBeam.
Huh, that kinda sounds like another Steeler storyline.
