Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has announced the quarterback order for Sunday's final preseason game against the Detroit Lions at Acrisure Stadium.
Mitch Trubisky will start, followed by Kenny Pickett and then Mason Rudolph.
Tomlin didn't go into the amount of time each quarterback will see.
On the NFL Network's Good Morning Football program, host Kyle Brandt speculated that if Trubisky didn't play at all on Sunday, that would indicate that he was the team's starter for Week One.
While Trubisky is still QB1 and will likely start against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 11, the longer he is out on the field Sunday, may indicate how much Tomlin is unsure of who will ultimately be the starter for the regular season.
Pickett has come into his own, posting the highest pass rating among rookies in a preseason since 2015 with a rating of 138.6.
Pickett has impressed going 19-for-22 in two preseason appearances, with three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Tomlin himself has said that the final preseason game will go a long way in determining who win position battles that have been ongoing throughout camp.
That includes quarterback.
