PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Two more teams looking for receiver help have gone elsewhere than JuJu Smith-Schuster.
NFL Network reports former Houston receiver Will Fuller signs a one-year deal worth more than $10 million with Miami. The 26-year-old is a deeper threat than JuJu. He will miss the first game of the season due to a suspension. Fuller played in 11 games, catching 53 passes for 879 yards for 8 touchdowns with the Texans last year. A career-high average of 16.6 yards per reception.
After already signing deep-threat Corey Davis for 3 years, $37.5 million, the Jets signed Keelan Cole. The 27-year-old gets one year, $5.5 million according to the NFL Network. Cole started only 5 of 16 games last year with the Jags, catching 55 passes for 642 yards, 11.7 average and 5 touchdowns.
JuJu is coming off 97 catches for 831 yards and a career-best 9 touchdowns. He averaged only 8.6 yards per reception, but was that on Smith-Schuster or the Steelers offensive plan?
NFL Network ranked Smith-Schuster as the third best free agent still available.
