With the Steelers wide receivers room now pretty slim with only Chase Claypool and Diontae Johnson Steelers Fan insider Ed Bouchette think the Steelers should try to go after free agent Jarvis Landry.

Landry was cut by the Browns during this offseason due to salary issues.

“He’s young enough, you can give him a two-year contract, unless again the market is just preventing him from it, maybe they’re not offering him a lot,” said Bouchette.

Bouchette adds he doesn’t see the Steelers trading any draft capital and sees them picking one or two receivers in the draft if they don’t sign Landry.

Landry spent his last four seasons with the Cleveland Browns and NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala tells the PM Team, that she would “love” it if the Steelers could sign him.

“He is one of the toughest, most reliable, most dependable receivers in the game and you can count on him in every way on the field, on the sidelines, inside the locker room, in the meeting room, wherever,” said Kinkhabwala.

Kinkhabwala adds that Landry is a Mike Tomlin-like player.

“This is not a guy who shies away from physicality in any way.”

The 29-year-old, five-time Pro Bowler had 52 catches last season for Cleveland for 570 yards with two touchdowns.

Landry's toughness would help fill the missing role that JuJu Smith-Schuster provided before he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kinkhabwala adds though that she hears Landry is open to returning to the Browns for a reduced salary.

Whatever Landry does, the Steelers need wide receivers and Landry would be an instant leader in that room.
