Kenny Pickett is facing criticism from some for bailing out of the pocket too quickly.
Fan Morning Show co-host and former NFL tight end Dorin Dickerson says those people have no idea how fast the game of football is.
“I don’t think people realize how fast pockets close, how fast the game of football is,” said Dickerson. “You watch it on your TV, it’s not at that speed.”
He adds even watching from sidelines isn’t as fast as it’s actually happening.
“In order to see everything is impossible,” added Dickerson.
Asked if he thinks it’s an issue Dickerson said no.
“It’s ridiculous that people are putting that video out there . . . it happens so fast.”
“There’s times where he’s going to stand in there like the touchdown and then there’s time when a pocket collapses, in his mind, and his clock is going off,” said Dickerson. “He has like three different clocks he has to think about, it’s a clock of the wide receiver getting out of the break, it’s his own personal clock and it’s the clock of the offensive line so, he has to time all that up in order to get the ball out and complete and have a successful play.”
