Tommy Pham says Blue Jays catcher was being disrespectful

Toronto catch Tyler Heineman said he didn't know what was going on

Pirates’ outfielder Tommy Pham and Blue Jays catcher Tyler Heineman’s argument after the right fielder drew a walk on Monday night cleared the benches.

Cooler heads quickly prevailed and the situation was quickly quashed.

After the game, Heineman said he didn’t know what was going on.

“I asked the umpire on the 2-0 pitch, ‘You got that just off? It was pretty close right there.’ He looked at me and didn’t say a word, then he bat flipped and looked straight at me. I just put up my arms and he walked towards me. I don’t really know,” Heineman said via MLB.com.

Heineman added he doesn’t really know who Pham is.

Pham gave his side of the story on “X”.

He said Heineman’s behavior was disrespectful.

“Bitching about a ball not being called a strike to the umpire when it’s clearly below the zone and away is disrespectful not only to the umpire but the hitter as well so like I said when I flipped the bat f*** him (Blue Jays MLB.com writer), dude has two years in the show I know the zone,” wrote Pham.

He continued to get into it with other “X” users after the fact.
