It wasn't a breakdown of worldwide computer systems that heralded in the 2000s, it was Wheatus' epic "Teenage Dirtbag."

With heavy riffs, catchy lyrics like "Listen to Iron Maiden, baby, with me," and a music video featuring Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari's characters from the film Loser, it's no surprise the song has slid its way into Alternative music fans' playlists for the past two decades.

After being forced to abandon their 20th-anniversary tour plans due to the coronavirus pandemic, the band announced the "Quaranteenage Dirtbag Challenge" to fans in early March. Now, after receiving submissions from 106 contributors from 16 different countries, the band has presented an incredible video mash-up with people playing everything from normal rock band instruments, to cellos, violins, flutes, and even the kitchen sink.

The story behind the song continued this year, when Wheatus released a 2020 version of it in early April as frontman Brendan Brown spent the past year recreating the band's entire self-titled debut after no longer having access to the master recordings.
