Without giving anything away, just know that you will laugh and have fun when comedian, storyteller, director and actor Mike Birbiglia returns to the Center Theatre Group and the Mark Taper stage July 27 to August 28 for the world premiere of “Mike Birbiglia: The Old Man and the Pool”. Maggie McKay caught up with him to talk about this latest show, L.A. theatre crowds, parenting, aging, his podcast and more.
In this show Birbiglia chronicles a coming-of-middle-age story that asks big questions: Why are we here? What’s next? What happens when the items at the doctor’s office that you thought were decorative become functional?
“The Old Man and The Pool” marks Birbiglia’s fifth solo show collaboration with director Seth Barrish, with a stunning set by the Tony Award-winning designer Beowulf Borritt.
