A chase involving a stolen U-Haul truck in San Clemente ended in a deadly crash on Monday morning.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop at 8 a.m. on a stolen U-Haul just before 8 a.m. but the driver took off, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver led deputies on a pursuit that came to an end when the U-Haul crashed into another car near South Ola Vista and Avenida Granada.
“The other vehicle had multiple passengers, one of whom is deceased, [and] additional passengers transported to the hospital,” according to the department.
The two suspects inside the U-Haul ran off, but both were later found.
The investigation is ongoing.
