Five men suspected of committing an armed robbery in an East Hollywood Airbnb are on the loose Tuesday morning, police say.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the 400 block of North Heliotrope Drive at 4:07 a.m. where they learned the suspects, who were wearing dark clothing and ski masks, entered the residence and took an undisclosed amount of property, LAPD Officer Norma Eiseman told City News Service.
At least six people were tied up with zip ties, according to multiple reports.
A woman named Payne told KTLA that the victims, who she said are her friends, had come to L.A. from Minnesota, and were on the first floor of the building. She added that she woke up to the sound of one of her friends screaming.
“My husband opened the door to check and noticed [the suspects] were standing there…we realized that it was not one of [the friends] and we were being robbed," she told the outlet.
She said she and some others escaped through a window before calling police.
The robbers left in an unknown direction. There was no suspect description.
Police said no one was injured during the robbery.
