Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass is cutting her trip to Washington D.C. short due to the ongoing violence at UCLA.

On X, Bass called the violence at UCLA “absolutely abhorrent and inexcusable.”

Bass also spoke with Chancellor Gene D. Block and LAPD Chief Dominic Choi about the ongoing violence.

She was supposed to spend the week in D.C. as the leader of the United States Conference of Mayors’ task force on homelessness.
