Federal agents served search warrants on Wednesday morning at Lancaster City Hall and a home in relation to a possible corruption investigation

The FBI confirmed searches at the home on Lancaster Boulevard, and the other at offices inside city hall.

Lancaster Mayor Rex Parris told KNX News Special Correspondent Steve Gregory that Vice Mayor Marvin Crist and council member Raj Malhi were named in the search warrant documents.

Parris added that several names are mentioned in the search warrants, and the operation is most likely tied to an ongoing fraud and corruption investigation. He said he was not notified of the operation before it happened.

Paris also said the city spent a lot of money bringing in law firms to investigate claims of fraud and corruption, but no evidence of any crime was ever uncovered.

The FBI says the warrants are sealed and cannot comment on the investigation.
