Over 500,000 Ford, Stellantis vehicles under separate recalls for issues with windshield wipers, stability control

DETROIT (WWJ) – A pair of separate issues has more than half-a-million Ford and Stellantis vehicles under recall.

Stellantis is recalling about 370,000 vehicles due to an issue with warning lights, while Ford is recalling more than 150,000 F-150s due to a problem with windshield wipers.

Stellantis officials say a warning light that informs drivers of a problem with their electronic stability control systems and may not work properly.

The recall involves 2019-2022 model year Dodge Ram pickups, as well as some 2021-22 model year Durangos.

No crashes or injuries have been reported.

Owners of those vehicles are expected to receive a notice in April and will be able to bring their vehicles to a dealership to have the software updated.

Ford, meanwhile, is recalling about 157,000 F-150s from 2021 that have windshield wipers motors that may stop working.

No crashes or injuries have been reported in that issue, either.

The fix would simply require bringing the truck to a dealership and having them replace the faulty windshield wiper motor for free. Reach out to Ford's customer service department at 1-866-436-7332 and reference recall 22S12 for more information.
