A routine traffic stop triggered a vehicle pursuit and the suspect allegedly ditched his vehicle and initiated a foot pursuit.
A K-9 from the sheriff's Special Enforcement Bureau was sent to the location and the foot chase ended about 6 p.m. The suspect was taken into custody and a handgun was recovered at the scene.
There was no other immediate information.
