Anaheim Police Department and Anaheim Fire & Rescue personnel responded about 3 a.m. Tuesday to the 2100 block of West Crescent Avenue to investigate a report of a woman who was unconscious and bleeding at the location.

"Upon arrival, they located a deceased woman, 43-year-old Jessica Elaine Crummel of Anaheim, inside a tent in a large unoccupied field on the north side of the street," said Anaheim police spokesman Sgt. Matt Sutter.

The initial investigation found the death to be a homicide, he said.

Crummel was possibly living out of a tent at the time she was killed, Sutter said.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information regarding Jessica Crummel or her death to call Anaheim police at 714-321-3669 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
