A new UCLA poll found that Los Angeles County residents are unhappy with the quality of life.

According to the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, the quality of life index dropped to 52, which is the lowest score on record. It also found that of the 1,400 people who took part in the survey, 56% are unhappy with the wildfire recovery efforts, 40% are undecided on who to vote for in the L.A. mayoral race, 31% are worried about deportation, and 26% reported an income drop due to the wildfires.

Former City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky, the director of the Los Angeles Initiative at Luskin, said we’ve been through a lot in the last five years.

“Bottom line is the economy, the cost of living, increasingly, you know, traffic and transportation is an issue,” he said. “All of these things have contributed to what is the lowest rating we've ever had.”

He said the most important issue to those who responded to the survey was the cost of living.

But, when it comes to whether respondents are optimistic or pessimistic about their economic futures in L.A. County, 53% said they were optimistic.
