Luna to announce arrests in anti-human trafficking operation

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna Tuesday is expected to announce details of a week-long, statewide anti-human trafficking operation that netted "hundreds of arrests" and rescued adult and juvenile female victims.

Luna will be joined at a Tuesday morning news conference by L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón and representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department, the federal Department of Homeland Security and other agencies, the sheriff's department announced Monday.

According to the sheriff's office, Operation Reclaim and Rebuild involved more than 95 federal, state and local agencies, the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force and task forces across California.

Alan Smyth, CEO of Saving Innocence, an anti-trafficking organization, will also attend the news conference.
