A man was fatally shot in a Long Beach hotel room, and a search was continuing Friday for his killer.
Officers were dispatched to reports of a shooting around 3:30 p.m. Thursday to a hotel in the 4100 block of Willow Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

"Upon arrival, inside a hotel room, officers found a male adult victim who had been shot in the upper body. Officers began providing medical aid until being relieved by the Long Beach Fire Department. LBFD personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries," according to a department statement.

The victim's name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The motive for the shooting was unclear, and there was no immediate description available of a possible suspect.
