The 15-year-old victim was walking toward the school to pick up his younger brother when an altercation broke out. An 8th-grade student, who witnessed the shooting, said the victim was shot in the leg.

The teen was taken to the hospital and is recovering.

The suspect, believed to be a 13-year-old, ran away. However, officers found a gun at the scene.

There will be mental health counselors on campus, if students choose to go to school.
