A USC freshman is suing the Department of Homeland Security after he was blinded in one eye, allegedly by federal officers during a No Kings rally.
18 year-old Tucker Collins told reporters on Wednesday that he was taking photos during the No Kings rally in late March when a federal officer in front of the Metro detention center shot a non-lethal projectile, which hit his right eye. Doctors had to remove it.
“Thankfully, there's someone who took video of what was going on there, what happened when I was injured, but if there's no one there, then I might just have to suffer in silence,” Collins said. “I might be called a rioter, an agitator, and have no one to back me up. Like, we need to show that these miscarriages of force are happening.”
Collins still has multiple surgeries ahead and has to take time off from school.
