Pasadena rang in the new year on Monday morning with the 135th Tournament of Roses Parade.
Tony award-winning singer and actress Audra McDonald served as the parade’s grand marshal as this year's theme was "Celebrating a World of Music."
There was also B-2 Stealth bomber flyover, which one parade attendee described to KNX News’ Jon Baird as “amazing.”
The parade, which featured nearly 40 floats, moved along Colorado Boulevard to northbound Sierra Madre Boulevard before ending at Villa Street.
This year’s parade featured floats from Honda, Kaiser Permanente, and the San Diego Zoo, whose float won the 2024 Sweepstakes Trophy.
There were a couple disruptions during the parade. One of the disruptions involved a group of protestors, according to Lt Monica Cuellar with the Pasadena Police Department.
“Fifty Pro Palestinian demonstrators walked in front of the first float...then they dispersed and the parade continued about 10 minutes later,” she told KNX News’ Jon Baird.
She said officers directed them off the road without incident.
The second incident involved a woman who reportedly drove her car into one of the barricades.
“When the officers approached her, it looked like she has some mental health issues,” Lt. Cuellar said.
She’s unsure at this time if the woman was arrested.
Around 20 marching bands marched and performed in the parade, including Michigan and Alabama whose teams are performing in the Rose Bowl Game.
