DODGERS VS. KANSAS CITY ROYALS: HELLO KITTY AND FRIENDS NIGHT
The Dodgers take on the Kansas City Royals at Dodger Stadium Wednesday night, with a little something extra for Hello Kitty fans.
It is Hello Kitty and Friends Night, with ticketed fans receiving a random mystery character item while supplies last.
First pitch is at 7:10 p.m.

PAN PACIFIC SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
Some of the world’s best swimmers are in Irvine as the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships get underway Wednesday.
The international competition runs August 12 through August 15 at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center.
Preliminary heats begin at 10 a.m. each day, with finals beginning at 7 p.m.
Most sessions are sold out, but a limited number of preliminary session tickets may still be available at the entrance.

THE COMEDY OF ERRORS IN GRIFFITH PARK
You can catch Shakespeare under the stars Wednesday night in Griffith Park.
The Independent Shakespeare Co. is performing "The Comedy of Errors," a story filled with mistaken identities, confusion and comedy.
The outdoor performance begins at 7 p.m. at the Old Zoo in Griffith Park.

BOOK CLUB COMEDY HOUR AT THE LAST BOOKSTORE
Book club meets comedy show Wednesday night in North Hollywood.
The Last Bookstore Studio City is hosting its Book Club Comedy Hour, a variety show where every act takes inspiration from one book. This edition is all about Erin Morgenstern’s "The Night Circus."
You do not have to read the book before coming, although they say it will be funnier if you do.
The show runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Admission is pay what you can, with donations accepted at the door.

LIVE LATIN MUSIC IN COSTA MESA
If dancing sounds more your speed, Café Sevilla in Costa Mesa has live Latin music Wednesday night.
