PASADENA, Calif. (KNX) – Union Rescue Mission will host its fifth annual Run/Walk Fundraiser at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena on Saturday.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the mission, which helps those who are experiencing homelessness. The mission now has three sites, including Union Rescue Mission downtown, Hope Gardens Center in Sylmar and the Angeles House in South L.A.

Reverend Andy Bales, the president and CEO of the Los Angeles mission, told KNX news they went from needing around $50k a day to accommodate everybody to about $75k a day or higher.
“We’re completely privately funded, because we believe in recovery and sobriety and so we take no government funds,” he said. “We only take private funds to do all this life transforming work.”
The event will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 12 p.m. Participants can register as solo or team runner/walker.
You can also participate virtually.
