
California regulators have approved Waymo, the driverless taxi service, to expand its business in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The company’s coverage will now go beyond test rides, now offering more regular services.
Not everyone is happy about this new expansion. L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn said this is dangerous to teamsters union drivers.

“These robotaxis are far too untested and Angelenos shouldn’t be Big Tech’s guinea pigs,” she told the L.A. Times. “Decisions like this one should be informed by cities, not made over city objections.”
In February, Sen. Dave Cortese introduced a bill which, if passed, would empower local governments to regulate autonomous vehicles.
