Waymo, the "autonomous ride-hailing service," kicked off its Waymo One tour in Santa Monica on Wednesday.
“Waymo’s autonomous driving technology that never gets distracted, drowsy or drunk — Angelenos will discover new and stress-free ways to explore their city, whether it’s finding hidden gem thrift spots in Mid City, trying a new cafe in Koreatown or catching a concert in DTLA,” the company said.

The tour will also make its way to Century City, West Hollywood, Mid-City, Koreatown, and then downtown Los Angeles.
Michael Juliano with TimeOut Los Angeles tried the autonomous car and called the experience “surreal.”
“Equal parts anxious and exciting,” he said. “It's even weirder at first than you think it'll be and everyone outside the car knows it too.”
To get a code, go on Waymo’s website or go to the company’s pop-up on Arizona Avenue and Third Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
