Tennis legend Venus Williams won her first singles match in nearly two years at the DC Open, and during a post-match interview in front of the entire crowd, she revealed she and Italian actor Andrea Preti are engaged.
She said, "My fiancée is here," at which point the crowd gasped and broke into applause. She added that it was Andrea who encouraged her to keep playing amid rumors she had retired from the sport. Venus and Andrea have been romantically linked for a year.
One of late "Friends" star Matthew Perry's doctors has been convicted in connection to Matthew's death, the fourth person so far. His attorney said the doctor is "profoundly remorseful for the treatment decisions he made," adding that he is "fully accepting responsibility." He is going to voluntarily give up his medical license, but he still faces up to 40 years in prison. A fifth defendant heads to trial next month.
On "Today with Jenna and Friends," Jessica Simpson opened up about making her musical comeback after being away from the stage for 15 years.
She talked about needing to build confidence first, to "put myself out there" and be ready for the negativity that she knew would come her way.
Travelers did a double-take over the weekend when they boarded their flight out of Mexico City only to find two A-listers would be flying along with them. Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie were boarding a flight to Veracruz when they were spotted waiting in the boarding line like everyone else. While they politely turned down request for pics with fans while boarding, they did pose for pictures while out and about in the terminal and eating. Can't hold up the line, after all, people get irritated with that.
