“So just 12 years ago, I did a marathon. But you know what? You’ve got to start somewhere. I’m not embarrassed,” she said while putting one foot in front of the other.

“Today is the first day of the rest of my life,” Bertinelli said.

The Food Network star ran the Boston Marathon in 2010 right before she turned 50. Her treadmill clip was captioned “Day 1” as she gets back on the marathon march.

The comments section was flooded with fans showing their support. Numerous people popped in to thank Bertinelli for getting them motivated on their fitness journey.

“You’re an inspiration,” one wrote.

“I just started back, too… WE GOT THIS!” Another commented.

Bertinelli has always been open with fans and the public about her body image and self-esteem issues. Just in June she told TODAY how she hadn’t checked her weight since releasing a new book in January, “Enough Already: Learning to Love the Way I Am Today.”

Bertinelli told the show at the time she would begin losing unwanted pounds once she felt “healthier internally and emotionally.”
