Well it’s finally out, Kristin will be on, “The Bachelor 2021.” Of course I’ve been knowing this for a while, but couldn’t say anything. When Kristin first told me she was going to try out, I thought, “okay that’s fine.” She sent me the video, before submitting it and I thought it was cute. Well I’m going to always think my baby girl is cute, I don’t care how old she is. I never thought about it again until she called me and said, “Mommie they called me back.” I was like who? She said, “someone from The Bachelor.” “ I said okay, now what are you going to do?” She told me that she wanted to keep going just to see what happens. Well now we see what has happened. Before she left to start filming for the show, I traveled to New Jersey for a few days to help her prepare for the show. But during that time, I told her to enjoy the journey. I told her that this will be another chapter in her book. Whether it’s 2 pages or 10, just make the chapter good. I told her to have integrity, pray, don’t let anyone change her, and be the beautiful strong black woman that I raised. Now am I nervous for her? Of course! She had to turn off her phone on Monday, so we can’t talk 7 to 8 times a day like we normally do. This is driving me crazy!! But I take comfort in this…When Kristin was about 8 months, she was christened and I gave her to the one who gave her to me, God. See I knew that placing her in God’s hands she would always be covered, protected, comforted, and most of all loved. My last words to Kristin before she left were, no matter the outcome, You Win.
